Sent letter of request to Ms Miles along with SASE and four pictures in the month of October 2016. She signed all the pictures and personalised one of them.

Vera Miles Wonderful Success! - January 8th, 2017
I sent LOR, SASE, and photo on 12/21/16 and on 12/31/16 I received my photo back signed and personalized. I included a $10 blank check, as of 1/7/17 it still was not cashed.
