George Mendosa claims to be the Kissing Sailor on the Famous Life magazine cover that celebrated V-J Day ..
I sent him 2 photos on of his famous kiss on 11 Sep and got both back signed 24 Sep.. He also wrote on the photo USS The Sullivans 1942-46 then signed his name. Plus he sent a note.. "The girl in the photo was my date that day on the on the sailor right arm got married after the war now 70 years".. That is what is written on the note.. The woman he married after the war can be seen (just part of her face) in the photo just over his right shoulder..
